‘Bling Empire’ Star Anna Shay Dies After Suffering A Stroke At 62

Anna Shay, a star of the Netflix reality show Bling Empire, which she was on from January 2021 to October 2022, has died at 62.

Her family released this statement about her death: “It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the early age of 62 from a stroke. Anna taught us many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things. Her impact on our lives will be forever missed but never forgotten.”

Shay kept most of her life private until she opened up about her billionaire lifestyle on the show. She used to live in Tokyo with her family until they moved to Los Angeles. Her father founded his own company called Pacific Architects and Engineers, which is a contractor for defense services in the U.S.

In one episode of the show, her wealth was discussed as many people knew that she was rich, but didn’t know where her money came from. Kane Lim claimed that Shay’s money came from “weapons,” but Shay squashed this rumor immediately.

She last posted on Instagram on December 3 She captioned the photo: “Wishing everyone happy holiday… May all your dreams come true. And a very special Thank you to all at the Netflix.”

Since her death has been announced, fans have been offering their condolences. 

Other costars from the show have paid tribute to her, including Kelly Mi Li. She posted a series of photos with Shay, captioning the post: “RIP @annashay93 💔💔💔 you are truly one of a kind and we will miss you forever.” 

Kim Lee, another costar, also offered her condolences in a statement sent to Deadline saying: “This is such a huge shock. I have so much love for Anna. I know that we had issues on the show but in real life, I had such a great connection with her outside of the show. We saw eye to eye, and she gave me so many words of wisdom I will never forget. There’s no one like Anna Shay; she’s an incredible and unique person who was beloved by so many people. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”  

Shay has left behind her son, Kenny Kemp, and her grandchildren.
