Lauren Sanchez, the fiancee of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, posted a series of photos to Instagram that cataloged a hometown stop on her tour for her new children’s book The Fly Who Knew.

Along with photos of the events and a stuffed version of the main character that accompanied Sánchez for various adventures, Sánchez shared a photo of her and her father outside of her childhood home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She captioned the post, “Nothing better than coming home. Went down memory lane. Stopping by the old house with Dad. Ate amazing food.”

She thanked all of the friends and family who showed up to support her.

In the post, she also shared a photo of old school yearbook portraits and added in her caption, “Even one of my old teachers showed up and brought a yearbook. 😮”

In the photo of the yearbook, it can be seen that Sánchez is listed as “Wendy Sánchez.” “Lauren” is her middle name.

Sánchez’s children’s book is focused on a fly named Flynn who doesn’t let her learning complications discourage her from her curiosity. While on an adventure, she accidentally gets trapped in a rocket going to outer space. On Flynn’s journey, she learns about the planet and the need to protect it.

Sánchez shared the inspiration for the story: “I was flying with my kids and a fly somehow got into the cockpit of the plane. My kids were like, ‘Oh no, this poor little fly is separated from his family!’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know, she gets to see the world from a completely different perspective’… so that sparked this fun story in my mind, that even the smallest among us can experience incredible adventures.”

This summer, Sanchez has made headline piloting Bezos to the Greek Islands from his $500 million super yacht.

Sánchez gained recognition from her work as an entertainment reporter and news anchor. She has previously hosted on The View, KTTV Fox 11’s Good Day LA and Fox 11 News at Ten.
