Bill Cosby Heckled At Final ‘Far From Finished’ Show, Two More Women Accuse Cosby Of Sexual Assault

Bill Cosby was interrupted by hecklers twice during the final show of his “Far From Finished” comedy tour in Atlanta on Saturday, a day after two more women came forward to accuse him of sexual assault.

Bill Cosby’s Final Show Interrupted By Hecklers

Protests sparked by the over three dozen women who have come forward and accused Cosby of sexual assault have followed the comedian throughout his “Far From Finished” tour. In March, Cosby’s show in Maryland was interrupted by a heckler who directly challenged Cosby on the subject of the women accusing him of assault and rape. “Thirty-eight women spoke up and called you a rapist!” the heckler screamed before being thrown out.

On Saturday, Cosby was first interrupted by a male heckler, who stood up in the middle of the set and started shouting intelligibly. The crowd of 1,600 (the venue seats 2,700) booed the heckler, but Cosby let him speak for a while before drowning him out with his act. Later, a woman stood up to heckle Cosby, shouting a more pointed, “It beats me how you treat – you treat women!

It’s unclear what happened to the hecklers, whether or not they were escorted out of the venue by security is unclear. Cosby, however, declared the evening a victory in an official email sent to attendees. “Dear Fans: We won tonight! No interruptions, nothing but laughter and an amazing standing ovation before and after the show. I thank you, the event organizers, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and the Atlanta Community for your loyalty, trust and commitment to stand beside me. Hey, Hey, Hey – I’m Far From Finished,” read the official email.

Two More Women Accuse Cosby Of Assault

Outside the Atlanta venue, Lili Bernard, one of the two women who came forward with new allegations against Cosby, stood with protestors. On Friday, Bernard appeared at a press conference alongside Sammie Mays and attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing a group of women accusing Cosby of sexual assault. Bernard, who guest starred in an episode of The Cosby Show in 1992, claimed that Cosby offered to mentor her and drugged and raped her in New Jersey. Bernard refrained from detailing her assault, but she and Allred announced that they went to police in Atlantic City and hope to press criminal charges against the comedian. “Unlike most other states, New Jersey has no statue of limitations for rape, which means that law enforcement is not prevented from prosecuting a case because of an arbitrary time period set by law,” Allred told reporters.

Bernard claimed she never reported the incident because in 1992, she felt threatened by Cosby, who allegedly told her, “As far as I’m concerned, Bernard, you’re dead. Do you hear me? You’re dead, Bernard. You don’t exist. I never wanna see your face again. Now get the hell out of here!” Despite not going to the police, Bernard said she told family, friends, a pastor and a therapist about the alleged assault.

“I am coming forward to show my 6-year-old daughter to stand in truth, and to say that I have survived Bill Cosby’s drugging and raping me. I stand here to take back my power and to confront the fear that has paralyzed me for so many years,” Bernard said.

Bernard said that she feared for her life for years, and became depressed and even suicidal after her rape.

Sammie Mays also accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting her. Mays claims the incident took place in the late 1980s. Mays, a writer, said that Cosby invited her to his hotel room for an interview and offered her a drink. Mays claimed that she accepted the drink, and remembers waking up sometime later in a chair, with her shirt open, bra askew and belt clearly tampered with.

“I had been out cold and I could not tell how long. I was discombobulated. I looked up at Bill Cosby for him to say something, to shed light on what had happened. He had this placid expression on his face like there was no need for any concerns,” Mays said at the press conference.

Allred stood by Bernard at the Atlanta protest on Saturday night, telling reporters, “It’s very important that we’re here because this may be his last concert. This may be his last stand on his ‘Far From Finished’ 2015 concert tour and we’re not finished with Bill Cosby.”

Almost 40 women have come forward to publicly accuse Cosby of assault in the past year.
