President Joe Biden’s German shepherd Commander bit seven Secret Service agents in recent months. One officer was even sent to the hospital.
Commander has reportedly attacked White House staff and bit them on their arms, thighs and lower backs.
When asked on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre did not say whether Commander bit anyone else outside the four-month period noted by Judicial Watch through Freedom of Information Act litigation.
Officials said that the dog, though a member of the First Family, should still be regarded as a pet.
“The White House complex is a unique and often stressful environment for family pets, and the First Family is working through ways to make this situation better for everyone,” said first lady Jill Biden’s spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander in a statement.
Alexander assured the public that the First Family “have been partnering with Secret Service and Executive Residence staff on additional leashing protocols and training, as well as establishing designated areas for Commander to run and exercise.”

The incidents were made public one day before Hunter Biden’s appearance in the Delaware federal court on Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor counts of tax fraud.
German shepherds are the most common breed used by the Secret Service to patrol White House grounds. Commander replaced Biden’s former first dog, Major, who was also known to have bitten many Secret Service agents.
