Today was the day thousands of Beyonce fans have been waiting for: the release of her long-awaited Netflix documentary, Homecoming: A Film By Beyonce. And Queen Bey had more surprises up her sleeve – the same time that Homecoming was released on to the streaming service, a live album featuring the 40 songs played in the film was released on Tidal, her husband Jay-Z‘s streaming platform.
Homecoming the movie documents Beyonce’s 2018 Coachella performance, which lasted a landmark two hours and was lauded as her triumphant comeback. The documentary includes behind-the-scenes footage, dance numbers from the show, and appearances by black intellectuals who discuss black culture and Beyonce’s contributions to the world of black music.
