Ben Savage And Danielle Fishel Team Up Again For 'Boy Meets World' Reboot 'Girl Meets World'
Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are set to reprise their roles as Corey and Topanga in the upcoming Boy Meets World spinoff — Girl Meets World. The new series will center around their daughter, Riley Mathews, an eternally optimistic 13-year-old.
It's been 12 years since Boy Meets World held it's coveted 8:30 p.m. time slot on ABC's TGIF. The reboot will be airing on the Disney Channel. The creator and producer behind Boy Meets World, Michael Jacobs, is working on developing the pilot for the new series, according to Fox News.
Many are already wondering who else from the original cast and crew will be reprising their roles. Will there be an Uncle Eric? Will Mr. Feeny teach Riley invaluable life lessons as he did her parents? Fishel wrote on her Tumblr, "It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages. It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages.”
One thing we do know for sure is that if Mr. Feeny is a part of Girl Meets World, it won't be as Riley’s History teacher — that's Corey's job now. Disney's casting breakdown also reveals that Riley will have a partner in crime similar in personality to her father's Shawn Hunter, named Maya. She'll also have a brother named Elliot, who's a year older than her. The project is in its early stages with no word as to when the pilot will air.
