Boy Meets World star Ben Savage came back into the public eye with his announced plan of running as a Democrat for the southern California congressional seat in its 30th District. This district is one of the most diverse voting populations in the country, including West Hollywood, Pasadena and Burbank.

“I firmly believe in standing up for what is right, ensuring equality and expanding opportunities for all,” Savage posted on Instagram. “I’m running for Congress because it’s time to restore faith in government by offering reasonable, innovative and compassionate solutions to our country’s most pressing issues.”

The seat belonged to Rep. Adam Schiff, who is, in turn, running for the retiring Sen. Dianne Feinstein‘s seat.

Savage has previously attempted to enter the political world, having run for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council in 2022.

Savage’s campaign states that he will focus on public safety, homelessness and affordable housing.
