Barbara Bush, daughter of former president George W. Bush, attended a fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton over the weekend.
Bush took a picture with the longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin, who was hosting the event with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Spokespeople on both sides have not responded to requests for comment. Barbara joins others in the Bush family who have crossed partisan lines.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that former President George H. W. Bush said he would be voting for Clinton in the 2016 election. George W. Bush has yet to endorse anyone, and ex-Florida governor Jeb Bush has declared he would not be voting for either Clinton or Trump in November. Former first lady Laura Bush hinted that she could possibly vote for Clinton over Trump. “I want our next president — whoever he or she might be — to be somebody who is interested in women in Afghanistan and who will continue US policies,” she said. “That we continue to do what we’re committed to do as a country.”
