Aubrey O’Day Says Her Vacation Pics Are Photoshopped Because Her Instagram Is ‘Museum of Art’

Aubrey O’Day cleared up some confusion around why she appears photoshopped into her vacation photos.

The singer has repeatedly been accused of editing her photos to place herself at travel destinations such as the Pantheon and Santorini in Greece, next to the clear blue waters of Bora Bora and on the shores of Bali, Indonesia.

O’Day went on the Tamron Hall Show and addressed the controversy, admitting to the edits, but calling it “art.”

“I am at all of these locations,” she said. “I look at my Instagram as I’m an artist. I look at my life and pictures as like art that I want to create for the world.”

She clarified that while she was actually going to these locations, she edited the photos to look better than they would’ve been if she was actually in the photo.

“In order to get to this place, you have to scale a mountain for about two hours,” she said. “I don’t have a caboodle of makeup and my wigs.”

Earlier this year, O’Day had a more fiery response to the photoshop rumors. After a TikTok surfaced accusing O’Day of faking her vacation photos, O’Day called out the TikToker.

“I don’t need to be flown places,” she said at the time. “Respect my aesthetic, I work hard to give y’all beautiful content that feels the way the places I travel vibrate… because I want y’all to vibrate high with me.”

On Hall’s show, she explained that her vacation to Bali, specifically, was about more than just the photos. The star revealed that the trip helped her out of an addiction.

“Bali, just to be completely honest, was about getting off of prescription medications that were given to me at 17 years old because this industry promoted me to be my most aspirational self,” she said. “When I wasn’t able to be that… doctors were giving me medications and telling me ‘take this and then you’ll be aspirational.’”

She continued to admit that she was taking about “16 pills a day.”
