Wuff, wuff, wuff! It’s been rumored for a while, but now that Arsenio Hall, 56, has put himself back on the map by winning the last season of Donald Trump‘s Celebrity Apprentice, he has announced that he will be returning to the late-night talk show circuit in September 2013 — almost 20 years after his The Arsenio Hall Show went off the air in 1994 after five years.
“In the end, I’m a comic, and nothing fits the talk-show mode like a stand-up comic,” Hall said, reports MTV. “I know there are a lot of shows,” Hall added, referring to the glut of late-night comics that rule the roost, including Jay Leno, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson, Carson Daly, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert. “But I think there’s a space for my show.”
Hall also stopped by Piers Morgan‘s show on CNN on Tuesday night’s episode to talk about the future show, on which he is teaming up with CBS and Tribune Co., according to the L.A. Times. Other than promoting himself, Hall took some time to talk about the recent death of Rodney King. “This was a good guy,” Hall said. “This is a guy who actually I’ve heard apologize to the people and happy that people forgave him for what he did. And this is a guy who got beat you know. He was a good guy. He had a good heart.”
