The CW has released an extended trailer for its surprise hit show Arrow, featuring star Steve Amell, which was just been renewed for a second season. The trailer gives viewers a taste for what the remainder of Arrow’s first action-packed season has in store for viewers.

We see more flashbacks of Oliver (Amell) on an island, as well as possible training sequences, explosions, and tense lines like, “There isn’t anybody else I can trust” and “You used me as bait, wasn’t that the whole point of your little trap?” It looks like viewers will also learn more about Oliver and Laurel's (Katie Cassidy) history together as we briefly see them sharing a bed.

Arrow is an adaptation of the popular DC comic book character Green Arrow, and the midseason trailer certainly looks like the trailers of some of its DC Comics counterparts.

In addition to Arrow, The CW renewed staples Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries.

“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. “Not only do [all three] perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

The next episode of Arrow, “The Odyssey,” airs Wednesday on the CW at 8 p.m. EST. —Hal Sundt
