Ariel Winter Shows Breast Reduction Scars At The 2016 SAG Awards

At this year’s 2016 SAG Awards, Modern Family actress, Ariel Winter let the world know she wasn’t ashamed of her scars from her breast reduction surgery.

Winter went under the knife in April 2015 to reduce her 32F bust size. “I was 15 years old with [size] F [breasts],” she told People. “It made me feel really uncomfortable, because as women in the industry, we are totally over-sexualized and treated like objects.”

The 18-year-old went on her Twitter the day after the award show to voice her opinion about wearing a dress that showed her scars, “Guys there is a reason I didn’t make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I’m not ashamed of them at all. :)”

She also tweeted a photo of her at the SAG awards.

In another interview with Glamour, Winter expressed that the decision to reduce her bust was entirely her own, “I kind of was confused by that question because to me it was not something to hide. I don’t think anyone should have to hide anything in general for fear of being scrutinized.”

The actress came under fire last year after she posted a picture in a bikini photos to her Instagram and users were leaving negative and inappropriate comments, Winter fired back defending herself and all girls who are bullied for what they look like and wear.
