Much to her daughter Apple Martin‘s surprise, Gwyneth Paltrow posted photos from a nude photo shoot for her birthday this Sunday.

The post was in part a pun, celebrating Paltrow’s birthday in her birthday suit, but also served as promotion for her brand Goop. Martin’s response, a shocked comment that just says “MOM,” has garnered even more attention than the salacious photo itself with over 17 thousand likes and counting. Paltrow responded to the comment with three laughing emojis, showing off the close mother-daughter relationship the pair shares.

“She’s so bright and so funny,” Paltrow described her daughter in an interview with Rob Lowe. “She’s hilarious.”

Paltrow’s post is even more surprising when compared to the social media guidelines she’s outlined for Martin and her little brother – though they have their own social media handles, their accounts are private and unverified, and Paltrow limits their usage of the sites.

“As a parent you think, ‘all I can do for these kids is teach them right from wrong’,” Paltrow said of the rules she makes for her children.

Martin wasn’t the only one who had a strong reaction to Paltrow’s photo – comments under her birthday post are star studded as Paltrow was showered with affection and praise for the revealing shot.

“What a beautiful girl you are and inspiring in so many ways,” Courtney Cox wrote.

“You got it !! Flaunt it,” international model Naomi Campbell commented, alongside fellow models Ashley Graham who greeted Paltrow “Oh hellllllo Bday girl!💕💕” and Paris Hilton who said “Happy Birthday beautiful!!”

Paltrow’s husband, Brad Falchuk, celebrated Paltrow with a separate post entirely.
