Anthony Bourdain, CNN's 'Parts Unknown' Host & Chef, Dead At 61 In Apparent Suicide
On Thursday morning, Anthony Bourdain was nominated for an Emmy for both hosting and executive producing CNN’s Parts Unknown.
The show was nominated for best informational series or special. Additionally, the series is nominated for Outstanding Writing For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Sound Setting For A Nonfiction, Outstanding Cinematography For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Nonfiction Program. On Parts Unknown, Bourdain would travel the world, often in lesser-known areas to discover local cuisine, history and traditions. However, he would also visit the some of the world’s most famous cities including Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Chef Andrew Zimmern, host of Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods, remembered the late host in a tweet:
The company that produced Parts Unknown, ZPZ Production, posted a photo of the Emmy nominations the series has received this year.
Bourdain died on June 8 in France, where he was discovered by a hotel receptionist and his close friend Eric Ripert. He hung himself using the belt of a bathrobe in his hotel room while traveling to film Parts Unknown.
He was survived by his girlfriend Asia Argento, his ex-wife Ottavia Busia and his 11-year-old daughter Ariane Bourdain. His daughter will inherit much of his wealthy estate, much of which has been suspected to still be concealed.
His biography will be published in the fall of 2019, to be edited by Laurie Woolever, Bourdain’s assistant.
