Anne Heche is in “extreme critical condition” and hasn’t regained consciousness after last week’s car crash, contrasting some earlier, less severe health reports. The police have also said she tested positive for cocaine at the time of the incident.

While no charges have been filed yet and the LAPD spokesperson Officer Annie Hernandez clarified that the narcotics test results were “preliminary,” she confirmed, “the case is being investigated as felony DUI traffic collision.”

The charges may not matter as her family recently updated the public and said Heche is “not expected to survive” due to a critical brain injury sustained in the crash. They added that “it has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.”

“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and thank the dedicated staff that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital,” the statement also said.
