Anne Heche Estate Sued By Woman Whose Home Was ‘Completely Burned’ In Fatal Crash

Anne Heche‘s estate is being sued by Lynne Mishele, the woman whose home and belongings were destroyed after the fatal August 5 crash that took Heche’s life.

Mishele’s attorneys have now filed papers with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County requesting $2 million in damages. Though Mishele was renting the home that was destroyed, her lawyers are seeking damages for negligence, emotional distress and trespassing.

According to a Go Fund Me that was established just one day after the crash, Mishele “narrowly escaped physical harm” and neither she nor her two dogs and tortoise were harmed. Mishele lost countless possessions including sentimental mementos, equipment for her business, and all household items when the home caught fire and burned for 65 minutes. The blaze required the efforts of 59 firefighters to extinguish the flames.

The Go Fund Me has amassed over $183,000 from over 4,000 donors.

Earlier this month Mishele took to her business Instagram account, Creative Organization, to update followers on her recovery from the accident.

“I’m still trying to navigate everything since the fire, still kind of wrapping my head around all of that and the aftermath,” she said in the video. “I hit a little bump in the road. In September, I was diagnosed with cancer.”

Mishele said she had surgery in October that went well, and doctors are optimistic that she won’t “even need chemo.”

“I wanted to once again thank everyone for being so sweet, so kind, so thoughtful, and supportive,” she added.

In August, Mishele posted a separate video offering condolences to Heche’s family following the tragic accident.

“The news of Anne Heche passing is devastating,” she said. “Her family and her friends and her children, especially, really have suffered a great loss and my heart goes out for them. This entire situation is tragic.”

Heche’s son Homer and her ex have been battling over control of her estate.
