Anne Hathaway & James Corden Perform ‘Soundtrack To A Rom Com’ On ‘The Late Late Show’
On Thursday’s The Late Late Show, Anne Hathaway joined James Corden in a duet that showcased their love story through 10 romantic pop songs.
Anne Hathaway and James Corden’s ‘Late Late’ Performance
The Late Late Show host Corden introduced the segment by saying, “We have ten songs, nine sets, one take and zero pressure. This is Anne Hathaway in a soundtrack to a romcom.” Hathaway then steps on stage and joins Corden in songs from fan-favorite loves stories like She’s All That and Bridget Jones’ Diary.
The first scene is an elevator rendezvous accompanied by Selena Gomez‘s “Hands to Myself,” in which the flirty duo act out a make-out session in the elevator. The next takes place in a moonlight garden, while the lovebirds belt “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer. The musical extravaganza is also quite realistic of a relationship: detailing its lows as well as its highs. The duo then fight over a text message, to which Hathaway then sings a drunk rendition of “All By Myself.” Finally, the performance ends on a high note with an airport reconciliation to John Denver‘s “Leaving on a Jet Plane.”
Les Miserables star Hathaway clearly knows her way around a song, and the pair exhibit stellar romantic chemistry. One can only hope the pair will star in a musical together in the future.
