Britney Spears told a state court on Wednesday that she wants to press charges against her father Jamie Spears for “conservatorship abuse.”
“I’m here to press charges. I’m angry and I will go there,” she said during a phone call with the court.
Her decision came after a Los Angeles court ruled that she can choose her own lawyer to end her conservatorship.
She posted a video on her Instagram. For the first time, she used the hashtag “#FreeBritney” on her post; she received thousands of supportive comments.
“Coming along, folks … coming along … New with real representation today … I feel GRATITUDE and BLESSED !!!!” Spears wrote in the caption of her video. “You have no idea what it means to me [to be] supported by such awesome fans !!!!”
Spears addressed a court for the second time in less than a month. During her previous appearance, she told the court that she had been “enslaved” by her father and forced to use an IUD against her will to prevent her from getting pregnant again.
