Amy Schumer and Ben Hanisch
Comedian and actress Amy Schumer is celebrating her year-anniversary with boyfriend Ben Hanisch.
The couple met on a dating app in 2015, and have been smitten ever since. “Things were just really easy with him,” Schumer told People in August. “There were no games, no waiting three days. It was clear and easy. He was so sweet. He didn’t know who I was. He’d heard my name.”
The couple went public in January of this year and have been happy ever since. Schumer describes Hanisch as her first serious boyfriend. “I feel like Ben is the first guy who’s really been my boyfriend,” she said earlier this year. “There are guys who, if they heard me say that, would want to punch me in the face, but yeah, it’s the truth.”
Both Schumer and Hanisch took to their social media accounts to post sweet messages to each other about their anniversary. His was, of course, sweeter than hers, given her comedic style. Hanisch referred to Schumer as “the love of my life.” Hanisch’s mother even commented on the post, saying how happy she is for the two of them. “That is so touching & sweet, and all what I can say is that I’ve taught my son right, to love, respect and be humble & nice to all and especially to the one he truly Loves – AMY!! CONGRATS! I’ve got your wine ready for us to toast to!!” read her comment.
