Amanda Bynes Splits With Fiancé Paul Michael After Just 3-Week Engagement

Amanda Bynes has split with her fiancé, Paul Michael, just three weeks after getting engaged.

Rumors of the couple’s split began circulating after Bynes deleted all of the photos of him on her Instagram.

Michael confirmed the break up in an interview with In Touch magazine. “I love her though, she’s my best friend,” he said.

Bynes has yet to comment on the breakup, though a source told Us Weekly, “Amanda is really upset about it and not taking it well at all.”

Some have speculated that the couple may have broken up, at least in part, because of Bynes’ parents’ disapproval. Since her public meltdown and involuntary psychiatric hold in 2014, Bynes has been under a conservatorship, which means that her mother must approve of any of her major life decisions, like getting married.

“Amanda’s parents are fully aware of her engagement and at this point are not approving Amanda to legally get married under the conservatorship,” a source told E! News.

The source at Us Weekly said, “Paul realized the relationship just couldn’t go forward because of the obstacles of the conservatorship and Amanda must live at a sober living facility.” Bynes has lived in a sober living facility since her relapse between late 2018 and early 2019.

Bynes first confirmed their engagement through Instagram on Valentine’s Day by posting a photo of her engagement ring with a man’s hand in the background. She then made several posts with Michael including a video with him where she apologized for calling fans ugly in 2013. The couple had been dating for three months.

“I’m so happy now,” she said in a video. “I got what’s mine— and that is Paul.”

At the end of February, the couple was spotted kissing at IHOP, according to photos from Page Six. They seemed “so happy” and “very much in love,” a source at the restaurant told In Touch Weekly.
