Watch: Sen. Elizabeth Warren Guest Stars On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Cold Open Mocking Fox News’ Coronavirus Coverage

Former Democratic presidential primary contender Sen. Elizabeth Warren appeared on Saturday Night Live this weekend to joke about her life since dropping out of the race earlier this week.

“Now I’ve got time to do a little self care: hanging out with my dog Bailey, prank calling big banks, drag racing Subarus, avoiding Twitter,” Warren said in the sketch.

Kate McKinnon, who normally portrays Warren in cold opens, played Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

McKinnon’s Ingraham listed things Fox News viewers should worry about more than the coronavirus:

“You got women who keep their maiden names, Montessori schools, Mexican teenagers rehearsing a dance for a quinceañera at a public park, fat Barbies, ‘What’s the maid saying?’, Black marching bands (they’re too good), and Harry Styles (what’s he doing, who’s that for?),”  she said.

On the show, she interviewed Jeanine Pirro (Cecily Strong), Donald Trump Jr. (Mikey Day) and Eric Trump (Alex Moffat) about the administrations response to the coronavirus.

“Democrats would love for people to get sick so they could use it to their advantage, like how we give Eric raw chicken so he misses important meetings,” said Day’s Trump Jr.

She also talked to Chris Matthews, played by Darrell Hammond, about leaving his job at MSNBC.

“Oh my god this place is amazing. Everyone here is hot, crazy, or both,” Hammond’s Matthews said about Fox News.

At the end of the bit, McKinnon changed into her Warren costume and appeared with the Senator herself.

“I wanted to put on my favorite outfit to thank you for all that you’ve done in your lifetime,” McKinnon said.

“Oh I’m not dead, I’m just in the Senate,” responded Warren.

After the show, Warren and McKinnon posted a TikTok meme to Twitter and Instagram in their matching outfits, which garnered more than a million likes combined. The video showed them “flipping the switch,” where McKinnon dances and Warren holds the camera with a straight face, and then they switch roles, and Warren dances while McKinnon holds the camera.
