The Voice coach Alicia Keys guest starred on The Tonight Show on Tuesday and sang like Gwen Stefani and Adele.
The talented songstress was playing host Jimmy Fallon‘s “Wheel of Musical Impressions” game. In the game, a digital slot machine runs and chooses a singer and a silly song to sing in her voice. Fallon takes turns as well.
The late night host has done this segment with multiple celebs prior to Tuesday, including Alessia Cara, Jamie Foxx and Celine Dion, but Keys was the lucky one on the show this time. First she had to sing Miss Mary Mack as fellow Voice judge Stefani. The audience had a blast when Keys stood up and repeated, “I ain’t Miss Mary Mack, girl,” a play on Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl.”
For his turn, Fallon had to sing insurance giant State Farm’s jingle as The Pointer Sisters. The odd reference appeared lost on most. Next came “The Alphabet Song” as Adele for Keys. She took a few seconds setting the stage, before busting into the ABCs to the melody of “Hello.”
“I smell a duet,” said an impressed Fallon, suggesting Keys and Adele should get together. He then was made to sing the Meow Mix jingle as Elvis Presley, which he did with style.
Finally, Keys belted out “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” as Janis Joplin. Keys got into character and Fallon joined as her backup singer.
