After Skipping Her Husband’s Political Events For A Year, Melania Trump To Appear At LGBTQ Republican Fundraiser
After a year of skipping her husband’s political events, Melania Trump is set to host a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago this month for Log Cabin Republicans. Log Cabin Republicans is “the nation’s original and largest organization representing LGBT conservatives and straight allies who support fairness, freedom, and equality for all Americans.”
This will be the former First Lady’s first major political event during her husband’s presidential campaign, Donald Trump. Melania has been absent from Trump’s campaign events, raising questions about the state of their marriage.
Since her mother’s passing in January, Melania has made two public appearances, first at a gala with Trump and then on Easter with their son, Barron Trump. When questioned about her return to Trump’s campaign trail, Melania told a reporter, “Stay tuned.”
The Log Cabin fundraiser is scheduled for April 20. Melania has previous ties to the organization. In 2021, Log Cabin named her guest of honor at their Spirit of Lincoln gala.
Melania has been selective about her appearances and how she presents herself in public.
Last fall, she was criticized for not wearing black to former First Lady Rosalynn Carter’s funeral.
