After His Arrest For DUI, Patrick Mahomes’ Father Is Mocked For Grim Photo After Son’s Third Super Bowl Victory
Patrick Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was mocked on social media after Patrick’s mom, Randi Martin, posted a group of the family after the Kansas City Chiefs’ 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
A grim-faced Patrick Sr. was the only family member not beaming in the photo, which included brother Jackson and wife Brittany and their two young kids.
“Pop wasn’t in a good mood,” said one fan. “His dad looks miserable,” chimed in another.
Patrick Sr., a former MLB star, may not have been in the best mood after the events earlier this month – he was arrested in Tyler, Texas, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to online jail records.
Patrick Sr., 54, is facing a charge of Driving While Intoxicated 3rd Or More, with a bond set at $10,000. The charge is a third-degree felony, with Patrick Sr. facing up to ten years of prison if convicted.
He was released from the Smith County Jail on Sunday afternoon. The arrest came one week before the Super Bowl. The Kansas City QB declined to comment on the arrest, saying “It is a personal matter.”
Patrick Sr. pleaded guilty to a DWI arrest in 2018 and was sentenced to 40 days in jail, which he served on weekends.
Jackson, too, has faced his own legal issues. He was charged with assaulting a woman last year, but the charges were dropped last month after she refused to cooperate with the investigation.
