Adele took home the trophy for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2023 Grammys for “Easy on Me.”

On Sunday night, Dwayne Johnson presented Adele with the award.

The former wrestler invited Adele onto the stage, saying, “Get up here, new best friend.” It was a reference to how host Trevor Noah stated in his opening monologue that Adele wanted to meet Johnson.

Noah told Adele that there was no one named “Dwayne Johnson” at the ceremony, but there was someone called “The Rock.”

Johnson then surprised Adele with a hug. He then could be seen sitting next to her later in the show.

When Adele accepted her award, she gave Johnson a big hug before honoring her fans and family.

“I just want to dedicate this to my son, Angelo,” she said. “I wrote this first verse in the shower when I was choosing to change my son’s life. He’s been nothing but humble and gracious and loving to me the whole time.”

The other nominees included Bad Bunny for “Moscow Mule,” Doja Cat for “Woman,” Steve Lacy for “Bad Habit,” Lizzo for “About Damn Time” and Harry Styles for “As It Was.”

Adele was nominated for multiple Grammys this year, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 30 and Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Music Video for “Easy On Me.”

Adele’s Best Pop Solo Performance win was her only victory on Sunday.
