Sciatica is a condition that happens when irritation or compression affects one or more sciatic nerves. The condition can run down from the lower back into the legs. It is not a serious or dangerous condition, but some severe cases need surgery as pain can vary in intensity.

The most common form of sciatica is caused by a herniated or slipped disc in the lower spine.

The vocalist has been open about her sciatica and other health issues that impacted her mobility to move on stage. During a New Year’s Eve concert, Adele told fans she is suffering from many health issues, such as chronic pain, sciatica and a disintegrated disc in her spine in her L5 vertebra.
