Adam West, who portrayed Batman in the 1960s television series, is selling paintings he created of the classic villains from the show.
The paintings will sell at a gallery in Ketchum, Idaho, where West now resides. “Criminals on Canvas,” as the exhibit was so named, opened today at the Gilman Contemporary art gallery. West is scheduled to attend.
The 88-year-old actor has said that he wishes his paintings to capture the humor and zaniness as well as the depth of the Batman villains. West brought the comic book character to life and to the public consciousness as he battled the likes of Catwoman, the Joker, the Riddler and the Penguin.
