Abby Lee Miller Leaves ‘Dance Moms’ As She Awaits Trial Sentencing

Abby Lee Miller has announced she will not participate in Dance Moms anymore as she awaits a delayed trial sentencing.

Miller has sparred with the show’s producers in the past but this time the host is facing two years in prison for fraud. “I don’t have a problem working with any kid, I love children and have dedicated my life to making other people’s children successful!” Miller said in an Instagram post with her announcement. “I just have a problem with being manipulated, disrespected and used – day in and day out by men who never took a dance lesson in their lives and treat women like dirt!”

The Lifetime show is entering its eighth season, and would be the first without Miller, who often threatens to quit the show but has yet to do so. With her looming court case, it seems this time she might be for real. Lifetime said it had “no comment” in the wake of Miller’s post.

Miller pleaded guilty to multiple charges of fraud and violating currency reporting laws, and prosecutors are looking for a 2.5 year sentence behind bars, in addition to fines. Miller’s fate will be revealed on May 8. Miller’s lawyers are pushing for probation for the first-time offender.
