Following the Parks and Recreation reunion fundraiser in April, NBC announced on Tuesday, that it is going to broadcast an hour-long 30 Rock television special. The commercial-free event will air on July 16 at 8 p.m. The idea behind the special is to promote the network’s shows and actors that will be part of the new season for NBC as well as its NBCUniversal cable brands.

The special will feature 30 Rock stars such as Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer. After it airs on NBC at 8 p.m. it will air on sister networks USA, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy and CNBC. It will be available for streaming on Peacock on July 17.

The 30 Rock creators Fey and Robert Carlock said in a joint statement, “We’re all happy to have this excuse to (remotely) work together again for NBC.” They added, “there are only two things we love in this world, television and everyone.”

The chairman of advertising & partnerships at NBCUniversal Linda Yaccarino said in a statement, “At NBCUniversal, we’re excited to produce an upfront that reflects a new reality and celebrates our relationship with viewers and advertisers alike. Historically, this event is about the future of programming; this year, it’s about the future of our industry — a future where we can meet audiences wherever they are, with the stories that move them. As the old saying goes … when life hands you Lemon, have her host the upfront!”

The Parks and Recreation fundraiser raised money for the COVID-19 Response Fund, which helps food banks have the resources that it needs as well as stay stable for those who need its help, especially those affected by the coronavirus.
