Singer Chris Trousdale, Former Member Of Dream Street, Dies At 34 From COVID-19

Former member of boyband Dream Street Chris Trousdale has died at age 34 for complications due to the coronavirus on May 2. The official statement of his death did not have any mention of the virus, but bandmate Jesse McCartney said on his instagram that Trousdale’s death was from “complications with COVID-19.”

McCartney posted a headshot of Trousdale. “It pains me to say that an old friend, Chris Trousdale, from my early days in the music industry has passed away due to complications from COVID-19,” the post read. “Chris had an explosively charming personality with boundless amounts of talent. Together we made up two of the five members of a boyband called Dream Street. We were young kids with budding talent who shared an overwhelming love for music and performing.”

McCartney ended his post by saying, “Although we were a band for only 3 years, at that age, it felt like a lifetime and we built a real brotherhood. In later years, we would grow apart as our lives would take different turns, but I would often reflect on our early days together and think about how exciting it all was. My deepest sympathies go out to his mother whom I know cherished him dearly. RIP Chris. I’ll never forget your smile.”

Dream Street was created in 1999 and ended in 2002. Its members among both Trousdale and McCartney included Matt Ballinger, Frankie J. Galasso and Gregory Raposo.

Ballinger shared a throwback photo of the band and captioned it, “Today is a tough day. Chris Trousdale is no longer with us. It really doesn’t feel real. Chris was such a big part of my life growing up. Being in Dream Street together was truly a special experience that I will always cherish. Chris was hands down the best dancer and obviously had the most iconic hair. He brought so much energy on the stage and it always pushed me to elevate mine.”

Galasso had also shared a picture from when the band was together. “Some of the fondest memories in my life are ones that he was a part of,” he said. “His passing weighs heavy on my heart, but I will always have the memories, of those years with him, to look back on fondly.”

Raposo shared a video of his children singing in honor of Trousdale. He said, “Words too hard to find right now. Working on something for you my old friend… 💔”

Trousdale had been in entertainment since age 8 when he was part of the Broadway production tour of Les Miserable with Ashley Tisdale and Lea Michele. After his time with Dream Street he made appearances on television shows Shake it Up and Austin and Ally.
