Broadway Actor Nick Cordero Condition Going ‘Downhill’ In Coronavirus Battle

After waking up from a medically induced coma, Nick Cordero is facing further complications in his battle with the coronavirus. On May 20, Cordero’s wife Amanda Kloots took to Instagram live in order to give her followers an update on what is going on. 

She said, “Nick has had a bad morning. Unfortunately, things are going a little downhill at the moment. So, I am asking, again, for all the prayers. Mega prayers.”

She later added, “this virus is not going to get him down. That’s not how his story ends,” she said tearfully. “So just keep us in your thoughts and prayers today. Thank you.”

Kloots has been gaining support for her husband through Instagram. She posted a picture of Cordero on Wednesday with the caption, “mega prayers for this special man right now. God continue to grant miracles.”

Cordero was diagnosed with the coronavirus in March. He was originally treated because of his development of pneumonia, but then tested positive for COVID-19.

On April 1, Cordero was intubated and later put into a medically induced coma. He had to have a temporary pacemaker put in place, but suffered from blood clotting which resulted in having to have his right leg amputated.  

Cordero woke up from the coma a few weeks later. Kloots has been posting updates and asking for support on her Instagram.

Kloots posted an Instagram of her and her husband with the caption, “I really miss this guy. It’s day 49 in the hospital for Nick. We have a new hashtag #offthevent because our new goal for Nick is for his lung infection to clear up so that we can start breathing trials and get him off the ventilator! These are big goals, but I BELIEVE! We have an army behind him that cheered, sang and prayed for him to wake up so now we need to believe that this to can happen! He’s not done! #coderocky.”
