Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said influencers AndrewTate and his brother, Tristan Tate, who arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Feb. 27 after leaving Romania, are not welcome in his state. The Tate brothers were previously banned from leaving Romania after being arrested there in 2022. They were charged with human trafficking, rape, money laundering, and “starting an organized crime group.” They have denied the allegations. DeSantis was speaking at Camp Blanding in Starke when a reporter asked him whether Andrew Tate was welcome in the state. “We have no involvement in that. I read about it through the media. Clearly, the federal government has jurisdiction whether they want to rebuff his entry into the United States,” DeSantis said. He added that Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier was looking at what jurisdiction Florida may have to deal with the brothers’ arrival. “The reality is no, Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct,” DeSantis said.
