Australian rapper Lil Bo Weep, real name Winona Brooks, died on Saturday at age 22.

The cause of death hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Lil Bo Weep’s most recent Instagram post, dated five days ago, explained that she was experiencing side effects from heavy medication due to post-traumatic stress disorder from losing her child in a miscarriage.

“Around this time last year, I lost my child, and I would like to do something in remembrance of her,” she said on Instagram.

She also revealed that she would be unlikely to conceive a child naturally after “growing up with a severe eating disorder.”

The rapper’s distraught father, Matthew Schofield, shared a picture of the two together on Facebook with a heartfelt message.

“This weekend we lost the fight for my daughter’s life against depression, trauma, PTSD and drug addiction that we have been fighting since we got her back from America through emergency repatriation DFAT but broken,” he wrote. “She fought hard against her demons as we all did side by side next to her and picking up the broken pieces over and over again, but she could not fight anymore, and we lost her. As her dad, I am proud of her beyond words as she is my hero, my daughter, and my best friend that I love so so much. She is no longer hurting now with the universe wanting their angel back. A big part of me is lost at the moment, but I ask respectfully that my close friends try not to ring me until I get some way through this.”

Lil Bo Weep was known for producing music on SoundCloud back in 2015. She also put out content on YouTube, TikTok and many other social media platforms.

Back in 2017, the rapper revealed she would be a featured guest on Florida artist XXXTentacion‘s new album.

XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was fatally shot outside of a motorcycle dealership in California in June 2018.
