It’s been revealed that the singer John Mayer has been assisting with logistical challenges related to the sudden death of Bob Saget while on a stand-up tour in Orlando.

Mayer and Saget were close friends of around 15 years, and Mayer has been helping Saget’s family in several ways, including chartering a private plane to transport his body back to California.

Mayer also assisted Saget’s family, which includes wife Kelly Rizzo and three adult daughters, by retrieving the car the Full House actor parked in LAX before leaving for his Florida tour. He was accompanied by roast comedian Jeff Ross, another friend of Saget’s.

Ross and Mayer went live on Instagram while driving Saget’s car, emotionally discussing the impact their friend left. “Everyone is so aware of how universal Bob’s love for people was,” a tearful Mayer said, “The thing that just keeps coming up when people say they’re sorry is just, ‘I loved that guy.'”

Mayer has also been making efforts to support the Scleroderma Research Foundation, a charity Saget passionately supported for much of his life. He released images of a hoodie sweatshirt he designed bearing Saget’s name to Instagram, sharing that all proceeds will go to SRF in the caption.
