In a much-delayed awards season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 Oscar nominations were announced Monday morning by Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra in a two-part presentation, live-streamed on the Oscars’ official website, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

Mank received the most nominations (10) across all 23 categories, including Best Picture, directing for David Fincher and acting for Gary Oldman and Amanda SeyfriedChloe Zhao’s Nomadland, an awards season favorite, received seven nominations. MinariSound of Metal, Judas and the Black Messiah, The Trial of the Chicago 7 and The Father are also tied with six nominations each.

The late Chadwick Boseman received a Best Actor nomination for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. He also won at the Golden Globes for the role.

The Academy Awards will take place Sunday, April 25 on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
