Wild Ho-Oh Have Appeared In ‘Pokémon GO’

Pokémon GO launched on July 6, 2016. Upon its release, GO redefined how society functioned as players searched far and wide for their favorite Pokémon. Developer Niantic continues to support the game, and a very special Pokémon has been released into the wild: Ho-Oh!

HO-OH UP FOR GRABS IN POKÉMON GO

As Pokémon Trainers have successfully caught over three billion of the critters throughout Niantic’s Global Catch Challenge, the studio has rewarded their fanbase with the chance to capture the legendary Ho-Oh. The iconic bird can be obtained through Raid Battles from now until December 12. So, grab your friends and head out to a Gym!

Ho-Oh was the cover mascot for 1999’s Pokémon Gold and its 2009 remake, Pokémon HeartGold, making it one of the most emblematic Pokémon hailing from the franchise’s second generation. However, it first appeared before its video game debut, as Ho-Oh graced the first episode of the ongoing anime series. Moreover, the dual Fire/Flying type was a focal point in the brand’s most recent film, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, which served as a celebration of the show’s twentieth anniversary.
