Well folks, it looks like Mrs. Heidi Montag-Pratt cannot use the old “I had a terrible childhood” excuse for her crazy, irrational, self-centered, weird, pathetic behavior. Why? Because Heidi came from a grounded and normal family. Heidi had a very telling conversation with her mother on MTV’s The Hills season premier last Monday.

Heidi’s mom, Darlene Egelhoff, who appeared in last week’s episode, expressed an understandable disappointment in her daughter’s decision to undergo ten plastic surgery procedures in one day at the tender age of 23.

Heidi, who just couldn’t begin to fathom why her mother would be a bit put-off by her new look said, “You act like I have a new face or something.” (Well uh, Heidi, you do!)

Heidi’s mother candidly replied, “Well, that’s pretty much what it is. It takes a little getting used to. It’s very weird and very awkward. I’m sorry.”

Bravo Heidi’s Mom! Someone has to tell that girl she is completely off her rocker, and quite frankly it should be her mother. But I digress; there is more to this epic conversation:

Heidi and her mother exchanged a few more words in which Heidi admits that she wants to look like Barbie (watch the full conversation here). However, the real bomb was dropped when Heidi asked her mother if she looked good. Heidi’s mother replied:

“…Of course I thought you were more beautiful before. I thought you were younger, I thought you were fresher-looking, I thought you were healthier. What’s done is done, so that’s a terrible thing for me to say but, yes, that’s how I feel. I felt that you were much more beautiful before and I hope that some of this will fade away.”
FINALLY! Can I get an “Amen”? I basically wanted to jump through my TV screen and hug Heidi’s mom. She is totally awesome for saying exactly what everyone else was thinking. Heidi was gorgeous before and we have all watched her slowly and tragically become this unrecognizable, plastic, Hollywood beast.
It is surprisingly refreshing to see that Heidi clearly has a good family that is grounded in real values. I hope she spends more time with them and finally brings herself back into some form of reality.
It is almost too sad to think that Heidi was so unhappy with herself that she mutilated her body to such an extreme. Heidi, listen to your mom, she is a smart, classy, amazing lady (And I only saw her for about 30 seconds).
Also, Mrs. Egelhoff, will you please tell your daughter to divorce that ridiculous husband of hers? Then all will be right in the world again.
