Pixar's still got it. Their animated flick, Cars 2, topped the weekend box office on opening weekend, making $68 million. Another new movie, the Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel starrer Bad Teacher, also did well on its opening weekend, snagging the number two spot with $31 million. The new movies pushed last weekend’s top grosser down the list: Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds (pictured), came in third with $18.4 million, Super 8 was in fourth place, earning $12.1 million, and Mr. Popper’s Penguins settled at number five with $10.3 million. Despite the newcomers, some old favorites continued to stay on the top 10 list. The prequel, X-Men: First Class, grossed $6.6 million for sixth place, while The Hangover Part II came in seventh with $5.9 million. The surprise hit Bridesmaids also held on to a top 10 spot, making $5.4 million to hold on to the number eight spot. Bringing up the rear were Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which grossed $4.7 million to make it to number nine, narrowly beating out Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, which came in tenth with $4.5 million.

I think it's safe to say that Cars 2 is the worst reviewed Pixar movie. But it just goes to show that no matter how bad a Pixar movie is, people will still see it because Pixar can do no wrong.
