Lady Antebellum Singer Hillary Scott Weds Drummer
Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott went from singing "I Need You Now" to "I wed you now." Scott, 25, the front woman and singer of the mega-selling country group, married drummer Chris Tyrrell in upstate New York on Saturday. In a strapless dress designed by Vera Wang and a gray suit by Ermenegildo Zegna, the bride and groom exchanged vows in front of family and close friends, according to People.
“We got married!" the newlyweds gush in a video posted to Lady Antebellum's web site. "We just wanted you to hear it from us first. We love you. We’re so excited to be starting our life together and we just had to let you in on the exciting news.”
The pair met in 2010 on Tim McGraw's tour and became engaged over the July 4 weekend. Lady Antebellum band mates Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley could not make it to the ceremony, but they will be present for some ongoing celebrations. "They look forward to celebrating with both Hillary and Chris in the coming weeks," the band's rep said.
