19 Kids & Counting's Jill Duggar, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 22-year-old daughter, is engaged to be married to boyfriend Derick Dillard.

Duggar, who’s studying to be a midwife, confirmed the engagement news on Wednesday, recalling how she was introduced to Dillard – who was doing missionary work in Nepal – through her father.

"When my dad first introduced Derick and I [remotely], we spent hours texting, calling, and talking on Skype while 8,000 miles away from each other,” Duggar told ABC News. “And when we finally met in person in Nepal, we knew within days that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.”

"I love Derick's desire to follow God and to serve others," she added. "Derick is so romantic and the proposal was perfect."

Dillard's Romantic Proposal

Dillard, who works as an accountant, revealed exactly how he popped the question to the 19 Kids and Counting star. Strolling through a park on a date – with the Duggar parents close behind – the two came upon a musician on a park bench. "[He] was like, 'Oh, hey, you look like a nice couple,'" Derick revealed. "'I think I have a song for you guys.'" He then played a song that was co-written by Dillard, recounting the blissful months of their courtship.

Now, with her solitaire diamond on her ring finger, Duggar is already planning her summer nuptials. "I think it'll probably be a Duggar-sized wedding with lots of friends and lots of family, and everything centered on God.” Though the engaged pair can hold hands now that they're engaged, kissing will have to wait until their wedding day. “We’re looking forward to it!” said the Duggar daughter.

Jim Bob Duggar, who is credited with introducing the lovebirds, couldn’t be happier to see his daughter become engaged to Dillard. "They're a match made in heaven and Michelle and I couldn't be more thrilled," he said. "We're so grateful to God and look forward to watching their love continue to grow as they prepare for their wedding and future life together. We're not losing a daughter, but rather gaining a son!"
