The episode focused mainly on political satire, but it also took advantage of its host's Bond persona in its selection of skits.

First-time host Seth MacFarlane, who wrote, directed and starred in the hilarious summer comedy, Ted, and is also the creator of the popular animated television shows Family Guy and American Dad, hosted the NBC sketch-comedy show's premiere and did not disappoint.
