Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Slurs, Talks With Jamaican Accent In Latest Leaked Video
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is back in the headlines with a new leaked video in which the disgraced politician appears intoxicated.
Rob Ford Slurs His Speech In New Video
Ford, who had told his constituents that he’d be stepping away from alcohol, is pictured in the video telling a story while standing in a fast food restaurant. Much of what Ford is staying is unintelligible due to slurred speech and what sounds like an attempt at a Jamaican accent. At the start of the minute-long video, Ford is heard slighting Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair.
When pressed to explain the video by reporters on Tuesday, Ford essentially said that what occurred in the video was no one’s business. "I was with some friends and what I do with my personal life, and with my personal friends, that's up to me," he said, according to CNN.
Ford Admits Smoking Crack
Back in November, under pressure from increased scrutiny, Ford admitted that he was smoking crack cocaine in a video that surfaced in May of last year. With his admission, the video recorded on a cell phone in 2012, allowed the city council to strip Ford of many of his mayoral duties.
Since the crack revelation, Ford has maintained that he is not a drug addict. The problem, according to Ford, is his drinking. Although he has stated his commitment to curbing his drinking habit, clearly – as the video shows and as he’s admitted – he’s off the wagon.
Despite repeated calls for him to submit his resignation from office, Ford has persisted in retaining his post
