British singer Sam Smith has dropped his new single “Writing’s On The Wall” – the theme song for the new James Bond film, Spectre.

Smith announced the release of “Writing’s On The Wall” on Twitter Friday morning. “Ladies & Gentleman, here it is,” Smith wrote. “The James Bond 2015 theme tune to #Spectre ‘Writing’s On The Wall.'”

Smith also expressed his gratitude for getting the opportunity to record the song and for the support of his fans.

Spectre producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli confirmed earlier this month that Smith had been tapped to record the new Bond theme song. In a statement, the two touted Smith’s talents, as well as that of Jimmy Naples, who co-wrote the theme song with the British singer.

“Sam and Jimmy have written the most inspirational song for Spectre and with Sam’s extraordinary vocal performance, “Writing’s On The Wall” will surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time,” Wilson and Broccoli said in their statement.

Smith’s “Writing’s On the Wall” is following the wildly successful Skyfall theme song sung by Adele. “Skyfall” not only won a Grammy, but a Golden Globe and an Oscar as well. Throughout the James Bond franchise, theme songs have been sung by the likes of Paul McCartney, Madonna, Carly Simon, Jack White and Alicia Keys.

Spectre, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, hits theaters Nov. 6.
