Kate Middleton smiled broadly as she rappelled down a wall during a visit to the Towers Residential Outdoor Education Centre in Capel Curig, Wales, Friday.

Kate Middleton Rappels

The Duchess of Cambridge was the picture of enthusiasm at the outdoor education center that’s run by Wolverhampton Council, which provides adventure activities for children. Partaking of some of the activities herself, Kate was spotted doing some rock climbing, before rappelling back down to solid ground.

Kate’s husband Prince William also participated in the days activities. The second-in-line to the throne expressed some nervousness about having his life in his wife’s hands as he took his turn rappelling. “Are you holding me?!” he called up to his wife, according to the Daily Mirror. Kate replied, “I’ve got you,” adding, “I’m quite enjoying this actually. For once I’m in control.” The Duchess then further teased her husband, asking him, “William – how much do you love me?”

“That was probably the first time she’s held the life of the heir to the throne – and her husband – in her hands,” said instructor Phil Blain.
