Flames from the Carolina Forest-area wildfire in South Carolina threatened homes on Sunday. This footage filmed by Greg Staff shows the inferno bearing down on houses as emergency crews worked to control the blaze. Staff’s neighbor Marissa McMullen Bazinet shared the video to Facebook, detailing how she “barely made it out of the house in time.” “My step-son woke us up right before the firefighters. The next door neighbors’ house and woods was surrounded by a wall of fire! We were barely able to get out. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life,” she wrote. According to an update from Horry County Fire Rescue, no structures had succumbed to the wildfire as of 7.30 pm ET and no injuries were reported. The wildfire, which was estimated to be about 1,600 acres, was 30 percent contained by 5:30 pm ET. (Credit: Greg Staff via Storyful)
