VIDEO: 2 People Rescued From Fast-Moving Creek As Storm Slams Southern California
A man and a woman were rescued from a fast-moving creek in San Juan Capistrano, south of Los Angeles in Orange County, California, as a major rainstorm hammered the region in the early hours of Friday. The Orange County Fire Authority said the pair were spotted trapped in the water, holding onto trees and bushes, at around 1:40 am. “One of the victims, who had been dragged downstream by the swift current, jumped into the arms of the helicopter rescuer just as he was about to be secured. The rescuer held onto the victim, quickly secured him, and the helicopter lifted them safely to shore,” the fire authority said. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. (Credit: OC Fire Authority via Storyful)
