VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: ‘The GOAT’ Contestants Lauren Hamilton-Speed & Joey Sasso Share What They Learned From The Show

Reality TV stars Lauren Hamilton-Speed and Joey Sasso shared details from their experience on the TV series The GOAT in their new uInterview.

The GOAT is a new reality competition show that features 14 popular reality TV personalities who compete in a series of mental, physical and social challenges to claim the title of “Greatest Of All Time.” Each contestant has joined the competition with a $200,000 prize and has to satirize the very tropes and archetypes that propelled them to fame.

Hamilton-Speed, a former contestant on Love Is Blind, pinpointed the challenge in the show she found most difficult. “The hardest challenge was the talent show, which is weird because I am a very talented individual — but what I don’t do is make balloon animals,”she told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “I could’ve picked any other thing, but I got balloon animals? And I had to dress as a clown…it wasn’t my favorite TV moment, but it’s one I’ll never forget, that’s for sure.”

Both contestants reflected on what they felt they had learned about themselves and other people from their time on the show. “I’m a threat,” Sasso, a former contestant on The Circle, said. “I honestly did not know that because I looked at it as if it was me…I would think the mindset would be ‘We need to get rid of whoever we think are the weakest players so by the time we get midway through, it’s the strongest players and it’s a battle to the death.’ It wasn’t that, and originally I was just like, ‘Oh, they don’t want me here,’ …and they were like, ‘No they thought you were too much of a threat,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, you know what, I’ll take that, that’s right, I am a threat, I’ll take that with me.’” 

Hamilton-Speed added, “I learned that no matter what room you put me in, I can’t help but be myself; even if conniving is not my thing, I’m just going to be me, and that’s all I can be. And I learned, you just have to watch people closely,people don’t always say what they’re going to do or mean what they say.”

Other show contestants, like Real Housewives star Jill Zarin said none of the contestants could be trusted.

Hamilton-Speed also shared a moment on-screen that would stay with her for years to come, “I will never forget the smell of being the first in the house by myself — and the goat, for sure. The goat was scary.”
