VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Tara Reid Reveals Why She Almost Passed On ‘Sharknado’: ‘Am I Getting Punked?’

Tara Reid revealed why she almost didn’t do Sharknado in a new uInterview.

“I thought ‘Are you kidding me?” Reid said, “like Sharknado, like tornadoes and sharks in the sky? Like this is the worst script I ever read,’ you know? But I kept laughing out loud because it was just so bad.”

“And then that night I went out to dinner with my friends and I was telling them about it. They were like, ‘Are you kidding me? You have to do this movie!'” she exclaimed. “And I was like ‘Alright,’ so I called my agent and said, ‘Alright I’ll do the movie.’ But I thought no one would see it, like I’d take the money and run and this kind of thing, but that’s exactly what not happened.”

“It was funny, we were in Mexico on vacation, and we were there and I get this phone call, and my phone keeps going, ‘Boom! Boom! Boom!'” Reid described. “I’m like ‘What is going on?’ like I thought something happened, and then I answer the phone and it’s my agent going ‘You won’t believe what’s happening, American Pie is trending No. 1, they’re getting a million hits per minute!’  And I was like you got to be joking me because we did no press on it, no anything on it.”

“And then I get on the plane to go home, and the stewardess says to me ‘Oh my God,’ he was like ‘I love your movie,'” she said, “and I thought, of course he’s talking about American Pie, and then he goes ‘Sharknado‘s the best!’ and then I was like, ‘Ok this is really weird, like, am I getting punked?'”
