Jeri Ryan, who played the Borg drone Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager, told uInterview about her favorite parts of reprising the role in the new Star Trek: Picard.

“I love how they’ve written the character. I love how they’ve developed her. I love what she’s been through in the past 20 years, and how she’s been so resilient to go through it,” Ryan said at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women fashion show earlier this month.

Star Trek: Picard begins at the end of the 24th century after the destruction of the android Data and the planet Romulus. Picard is on a mission to find Data’s long-lost “daughter” to help save the legacy of his best friend.

Ryan spoke about working with Patrick Stewart:

“I think my favorite moments working with Patrick were in my first two episodes because Jonathan Frakes directed, who’s a dear friend of mine as well.” Frakes directed episodes 4 and 5, which are set to come out on February 13 and February 20.

“Just watching Patrick like a giddy little boy when he was on set with Frakes was so fun, was really sweet.” Frakes played Commander William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation alongside Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard.

“Patrick’s a doll. I mean he’s a lovely, lovely man. And he’s a goofball, and he’s an incredible actor and just a beautiful human being so it’s a lot of fun,” said Ryan.
