VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Sonya Curry On Signs Of Steph Curry’s Greatness As A Child
Stephen Curry: Underrated follows the life of Steph Curry and his journey as a basketball star throughout his life.
During the Sundance Film Festival, Sonya Curry, Stephen Curry’s mom, spoke to uInterview founder Erik Meers about signs of greatness when Curry was a child.
“I don’t know if there was ever a moment of greatness but just a moment of love for basketball and love for his family,” Sonya revealed.
“When he turned one we got him a basketball and he turned around and waddled over there and put it in the basket and he turned around and looked at us like, ‘are y’all clapping?’” Sonya continued, “And it was a house full of grown people because he was the first grandbaby in the family so we all clapped and every time he would grab the ball and shoot it he would look at us for clapping.”
Sonya also talked about the trait that contributed to his success, “He cares about everybody. He wants everybody to be ok and I think that translated into his team as well.”
Stephen Curry: Underrated will premiere on Apple TV+ later this year.
